About Us

We're a family team that travels to where plumbing is actually needed: remote communities, regional towns, and places that don't always get a look-in. We take our work seriously, we look after the people we work with, and we're proud of every job we do.

Our Story

From the City to Red Dirt Country

Red Dirt Plumbing is a family business, a dad and his two sons, all licensed and all hands-on. Our founder, Michael Hammond, is a proud Barkindji man who grew up in a small town and has been a licensed plumber for over 35 years. For 16 of those years he ran a successful plumbing company across the city, taking on hospitals, government buildings, schools, shopping centres, childcare centres, Bunnings, roofing and maintenance, rainwater systems, pumps and filtration. The lot.

Over the past five years, volunteer work and consulting with the Reece Foundation took him out to remote communities, and something clicked. Seeing people without reliable access to clean water and proper sanitation lit a fire. Everyone deserves functioning plumbing, and there's a real shortage of tradespeople willing to get out there and do it.

"Everywhere we worked, it was red dirt roads getting us there. The name just made sense."

So Red Dirt Plumbing was born. A business built around getting good plumbing to the places that need it, done with genuine respect for the communities and culture we're working alongside.

How We Work

We're not a drop-in, drop-out operation. We take the time to get to know the people and places we work in, and we're mindful of both the land and the communities around us.

Our work is our reputation. We hold a high standard on every job, no matter how remote or how tough the access. That often means long drives down red dirt highways and working in challenging conditions, but that's the job and we wouldn't have it any other way.

Over the years we've built some genuine friendships with the people we've worked with, and that's something we're proud of.

Remote and regional jobs often need more than one trade on site, and over the years we've put together a trusted network of tradespeople we can bring in when the job calls for it, including:

Electricians

Plasterers

Painters

Builders

Tilers

Solar Specialists
